First time at the Newport, eleventh show of Fall tour. This is a pretty good audience recording but, a little too much crowd noise for my taste. Little bits of feedback in the monitors continue to plague them throughout this tour.

First set starts off with a standard version of Suzy to get settled in. Page's second solo is really good. Foam is also pretty regular sounding, but good and dynamic. Divided Sky is good, just a little choppy sounding at times, like it's not quite locking in with Fishman. An early version of FEFY slows things way down, but it's nice to hear anyway. A ripping Poor Heart brings the show right back up to speed. Stash was really rough. Trey was all over the place. Good jam, but not very together tonight. Lizards sounds like Trey pulled himself out of tune a little during Stash. Not too bad altogether. Sparkle is standard, so is Horn as we get more new Rift material out there. YEM makes for a great closer here, except this one is a little weak at times. The ending jam really does show Fishman working the Wedge drum part out. Nice vocal jam to end it all, funny as usual.

Long foolishness starts off an ok Wilson, complete with language signals by the end jam. Right into a solid Possum. They haven't been closing sets with this much any more. Sticking with Mike on vocals, we have a nice Mound, which is getting better every time they play it. Trey then leads right into a rocking Tweezer. Very nice jam section tonight. Mellowing out second set we have an ok Tela. Not quite locked in on this one either, but not too bad. Fish stomps on Trey's last note with the intro to a ripping Llama. Pretty standard rocker here. Glide was also dynamic tonight like Foam was. Like they were trying to finish each other's musical sentences. Fish teaches another crowd to sing along with his new song Lengthwise plus the usual vacuum solo. Nothing too crazy tonight. Coil was ok, but sounded like Mike was a little lost at times. Good Page outro as usual. So, I'm feeling like Trey is teasing Mike with Walk the Line, because he messed up in Coil. Seems like they play it whenever Mike has troubles. Anyway, Jim is a solid closer for a pretty good second set.

Double encore starts off with a rough sounding Golgi. Again, just not quite locked in all the way. Rocky Top is it's usual self tonight with lots of hooting and hollering in the backround from Fishman. Well done.

Overall this is a pretty good show. Nice song selection, but no real wow factor for me.
