Twenty five years ago, the very first copies of The Phish Companion landed in our hands - about the same time we declared that the Mockingbird Foundation would be all-volunteer. There were earlier books about the band, but this was the first truly comprehensive book, written entirely by fans, for charity. Others were written about some particular aspect of the band, or using content "borrowed" from Phish.net, or simply for profit. The Phish Companion was and is, like the Helping Friendly Book of Gamehendge lore, all of the knowledge inherent in this universe, used for joy and never-ending splendor, with no avarice or greed.
In the 25 years since, we've had two other editions of the book, a wildly successful double-disc tribute album, nealry two dozen curated artworks, a wide range of branded merchandise, and a variety of special events, including two road races, three poker tournaments, four yoga events, five wine tastings, six charity auctions, and ten golf tournaments. We've distributed 766 grants, totalling more than $2.8M, to schools, churches, community centers, and nonprofits in all 50 states - in competitive grants, emergency grants, tour grants, and our own DeLucia Awards, honoring Craig DeLucia, who first instigated the book, the album, and the foundation.
We're now preparing for some very special news to be announced in January, that will both continue our longstanding efforts and create a legacy that will continue to honor our history and the generous nature of the Phish fan community for may decades to come. We appreciate your support for all that we've done so far, and welcome you to make a year-end donation that will contribute to the grants we'll announce later this fall, that special effort being announced in January, and the future of Mockingbird. Because, while not *everything* is right in the world, you can indeed feel good, thankful, and proud, for this community and for what it does to bring love and light.

The Mockingbird FoundationThe Mockingbird Foundation is a non-profit organization founded by Phish fans in 1996 to generate charitable proceeds from the Phish community.
And since we're entirely volunteer – with no office, salaries, or paid staff – administrative costs are less than 2% of revenues! So far, we've distributed over $2 million to support music education for children – hundreds of grants in all 50 states, with more on the way.
