Phish in Vermont, hmm? Well this was a considerably different vibe than the last time Phish played in their home state. The last time this Canadian (who lives about two hours away) went to see Phish in Vermont it took about 30 hours to get there. The crowds were so big the boys were but a blip on...
Wasnt at this show but was listening to the soundcheck earlier today and its just about unmistakable to hear Fuego after the Peaches and Canonball - so 3 years prior to the album being cut Mike is toying around with this bassline already - any other sightings? Check out 33:09...
"Character Zero is what it is"
Have to disagree here. One of the skronkiest, atonal, harrowing Zero jams I've ever heard. It was like they were trying to walk a tight-rope to see how far they could push the song's structure without the people who weren't paying attention noticing. While Trey...
I get goose bumps when I think of this show....It has me in a state of euphoria to this day....I was listening to it on my train ride home today and reminiscing. I spoke to so many old fans that hadn't seen them in a long time and seemed appreciative that they made it easy to see a show because...

I agree...Phish should totally open more 1st sets w/ DWD!!!
This show was fantastic. I got to watched the web stream and thought the band was playing from the heart. Funky Bitch had a great groovin going. The highlight from the first set for me was Wolfman's Brother. The jam at the end was killer. The only thing that has bugged me this tour was that alot...
This was for Bernie Sanders' 2020 Super Tuesday Rally. The stage was small and Fishman was on a little drumkit, sound in the venue was pretty bad (basically it was a big metal shed with the band on a side stage). The Mallet Brothers are a pretty bland band IMO, but having Mike come out really...
This show was way more than a setlist. It was a pilgrimage where phans got to serve a good cause while getting a bonus Phish show in the beautiful state of Vermont (aka home turf).
The parking lot scene and local roads were very convenient for a small town hosting big-time Phish. With the...
Similar to many of the other standout versions, where the band brings the tone and groove down nicely before rebuilding. But in this version, the band gets into an almost jazz-like swing, and Page adds some unusual (for "Julius") chords that increase the jazz mode.
> in from "DwD." Although shorter, this one starts with delicate, heartfelt playing by Trey, but quickly amps up to pack a full punch from all by the conclusion.
Some good "Manteca"-like jamming early on, then the jam opens up and Trey layers on some nice guitar melodies before a full-on finish. Mike and Page shine.
Starting off in a driving, typically ear-splitting mode, the jam shifts into an upbeat, non-raging sentiment. (Part of this jam sounds somewhat similar to the "A Love Supreme"-like jamming in the 6/3/11 "DwD"). Trey adds some nice soloing, and Page some great effects. Gets spacey with > to "DwD."
To paraphrase @nicobert: One of the skronkiest, atonal, and harrowing "Zero" jams going. Like trying to walk a tight-rope to see how far he can push the song's structure without anyone noticing, typically on-fire Trey is especially incendiary, at one point using his mic as slide to, in a manner of listening, spew magma into a packed school bus.
