My 1st show. This place was tiny, capacity around 900 I believe. 1st set pretty standard. Stash featured some ambitious playing. They were really attacking different themes, exploring different keys. Most of the time it didn't really work but still interesting. Also of note, a flawless...

The first set is quite short and unspectacular aside from yet another '94 Stash you'll want to hear. The second set is a big improvement over the first and circulates in SBD quality so there's no reason not to give it a go. Wilson > Bowie is a great combo to get things moving and also begins the...

Solid show with some decent highlights: 1) Stash: Jam starts with some oscillating wave-like rhythms which the band rides into melodic flirts with tension. Eventually the tension begins to win and some chaos ensues. I'd say Fishman is the MVP of this jam, very percussive throughout....

First set was solid, well-played, and included a highly unusual Wedge with extended Page solos both going in and coming out. Second set started with more of the same, a very nice Stash-> Lizards followed by a tight PYITE> All Things Reconsidered. To me, then, the Mikes > Hydrogen > Weekapaug ->...

Breaking more new ground in new venues, this is the first performance at The Edge. The eighteenth show of the tour continues in Florida and was pretty average for this time period. I wish I could say better things about the recording other than I'm glad it's available. It left a lot to be...

The source that circulates is a frankestein of sorts - several different sources patched together to make a whole. The sound quality varies and I would never consider it good, but it's definitely listenable. SET I The first set is solid, but nothing outstanding. The SOAM is pretty good....

Notable Jam Chart Performances

Individual jam chart entries from this venue:

1994-04-30 David Bowie (18:35) Set 2 Noteworthy
> in from "Wilson." Cool little jam on "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" in intro. Some "DDJ"-like musing, an unusually quiet but probing early section, and then a gnarly, dissonant build, all making this final April '94 performance another strong one.
1994-04-30 Possum (11:21) Set 2 Noteworthy
Several teases in the jam (see Setlist), but they fit in really well, as if part of the jam, not funny little add ons. Then the jam takes off in typically blistering '94 style. Fish rocks this one hard, and the others are no slouches either.
A lilting, musical intro features melodic Trey and "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" teasing, a fun theme throughout this show. A loose, easy vibe dominates the composed section. Page's fast clip solo, which sparkles, is anchored by great Mike and colored by thoughtful and deliberate work from Trey. A fiery conclusion > to an excellent "Possum."
1994-04-30 Stash (11:00) Set 1
Every version of "Stash" from April '94 is on this chart and with good reason. This one mutates and thrashes nicely.
1994-04-30 Harry Hood (12:00) Set 2
Jam opens with a great "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" tease followed by light, fluttery playing before a knockout punch ending.
-> in from "Weekapaug." The debut of this Hot Rize bluegrass classic is sandwiched in a typically strong '93 "Weekapaug." -> back to "Weekapaug."
Another strong Spring '93 version that bookends the debut of "Nellie Kane" -- the second half is particularly hot, and -> "HYHU."
-> in from the debut of "Nellie Kane" to conclude a strong '93 "Weekapaug."
1993-02-23 Stash (9:47) Set 2
Unusual, exploratory ending section (beginning at 8:00) with rhythmic variation and a different vibe. -> to "Lizards."
