My 1st. 1st review. 1st show. 1st time on paper at a concert. I'm just gonna go all out with this review b/c it was such a cathartic, life-changing night that I feel it deserves my time to do as such. Plus, where else should I write a longass review of a show? THE REVIEW I WAS BORN TO WRITE!...

This is one of the better shows of the tour in my opinion, thanks in large part to great Mike's Groove in the second set. First Set - I like the song selection and placement well enough, and the set starts and ends with solid jams and SOAM and Bowie. The Bowie goes out there a little more...

My 3rd show, and I distinctly remember the usher, an older guy, guiding us to our seats and how he kept getting closer to the stage and how I had no idea my seats were so good, and also how good Lucy was that night. The fact that I was laughing hysterically at the seemingly random "hey's" in...

11/15/12 - This show was replayed in thePhish room on Turntable.FM Stash is an excellent high-energy opener and the rest of the set follows suit. Foam has a great outro jam. Longer than average pause in Divided Sky, Hello My Baby sounds nice with minimal crowd yelling (unmic'd). Set two...

This Mike's is an ancestor of 1997. I've been plowing thru '96 shows to get a better sense of how the '97 funk evolution came about, and this Mike's provides a window into the future. There is an extended funk section, and an extended Trey-taking-a-backseat section. Neither of those things...

Notable Jam Chart Performances

Individual jam chart entries from this venue:

Page > Trey vocal/guitar > Page piano, Fish on percussion, Trey guitar, Mike bass jamming out to Page's piano > klezmer and finale.
Straightforward, but with very strong, inspired playing by Trey (and everyone else, too).
1996-11-06 Mike's Song (23:37) Set 2
In '96, the band seemed to stretch out the "Type I" 1st jam considerably, and this one is a good example, which continues to 10:05, but not much really happens in that time. In the 2nd jam, Page treats us to a run through his gamut of keyboard toys, including the Moog, B-3, Fender-Rhodes, and piano, while Trey is noticeably hanging back in a support role.
