this is one of the great "hidden" gems of the fall '95 tour. everyone focuses on the december shows, but don't allow yourself to overlook some of these very good pre halloween shows. there are some real winners in the mix, this one included. ac/dc bag gets this one off to a nice rocking...

This was the final show of my 3 night run with Phish and closes my first encounter with the band. 10/13 was a great warm-up. 10/14 (and the night show @ Emos) was obviously all a fellow needed to get on the bus and stay on the bus. This night was very good and showed the kind of stamina these...

My 2nd show and the one that got me hooked. 1st set starts with a very hot AC/DC bag. Then, set I is pretty standard until you get to ICE. The Ice > Tela, Runaway Jim is the point I remember finally understanding what all the hype was about. As if that wasn't enough, set II contains a nice...

The prior show in Austin, on the outskirts of town, was a pretty low key event (but amazing performance). The touring fans were limited and subdued, and Austin wasn't very hip to Phish yet. This time, however, things had changed. Jerry was freshly gone and the dead crowd was migrating into what...

At this Sunday show, it felt like there was a tacit understanding between band and audience that we're all beat, but let's do this. I know I was wiped out and the band was well known to have been blowing it out on sixth street til the wee hours, as were most of the crowd. And predictably, the...

Buried Alive was a bit of a bustout opener but shows no signs of rust. Slave pops up in a strange position, but is majestic nonetheless with Trey enthusiastic and way out front. Nice and tight Foam, but the first section of the Bowie closer is rushed, with the timing slightly off. The jam is...

The calm before the storm. Slave in a rare first set #3 slot, it's strong and has a strong ending as most from this era. Excellent Llama. Bowie has a fairly straightforward jam, but still has the same great fire. Tweezer moves with ease into it's jam with some fantastic bass work by Mike....

SET 1: AC/DC Bag, Cars Trucks Buses, Kung: Nice bustout, not seen since 10.20.94 which turns out to be a 75-show gap > Free, Sparkle: Tons of momentum out of gate with these first 5 tunes. > Stash: Nice, our first shot at a jam! And do they ever capitalize on the opportunity. This one is...

AC/DC Bag: great classic 1995 opener. Breaks off for a minute but returns for the normal peaky ending Cars Trucks Buses: Page time Kung: 76 show gap. After the lyrics there’s a fun spacey jam Free: average 1995 percussion Trey version Sparkle:...

Notable Jam Chart Performances

Individual jam chart entries from this venue:

1995-10-14 Stash (18:10) Set 1 Noteworthy
Some cool quiet playing early on, then the jam veers away from the norm into some deep exploration. A different animal than the creatures from '93 - '94. No big peak, instead the jam dissipates with a -> to "Catapult."
1995-10-14 It's Ice (9:11) Set 1
Features a spacey and psychedelic jam.
Quickly gets beyond "Jim" into a driving, percussive and intense jam.
1995-10-14 Reba (14:54) Set 2
Great "Reba" not far removed from some of 1994's finest (10/18; 10/26). Expansive and far-ranging, the band plays quietly and patiently, covering a lot of ground, and working as one to incorporate calculated, dynamic melodies, and extended passages of sustained grace.
With Medeski, Martin & Wood! (no B&D, no VJ)
Scat singing and playing by Trey in response to Page's solo. Another long Page solo. Prayer-like chanting from Mike before return to lyrics.
