This was my very first Phish show and also my first time going the infamous Stone Church. My brother and sister were up visiting me at UNH and we headed to Newmarket for the night because some friends told me there was a really cool band I should check out. I walked in the door just as they...

The David Bowie here is pretty hot, and the Bold As Love is solid, but the highlight for me is definitely Mr. PC with Gears and Russ. Very cool. Fairly average beyond that, with a straightforward Mike's Groove (although the Hydrogen is played at warp speed and is very well executed). Actually,...

Most of this show is of the solid/average variety, but Trey goes all Shred God on the YEM, and the Fish's Birthday Bowie is pretty darn good as well. Also, the Wilson > Peaches combo is always welcome. FYI the AC/DC Bag jam is cut from this recording. 3 Stars.

So this show caught my attention from the "this date in phishtory" thing because a friend of mine (big phan too) was actually playing at the Stone Church while I noticed this. I thought, well I might as well give it a listen. And I'll be damned if this isn't probably the best thing I've heard...

Not much to review with this one as only a small portion of the show circulates. The SBD source leaves a lot to be desired as there is multiple cassette generations in it’s lineage. I listened to this one through the Relisten app, I’ll have to see if I have the audience recording on my hard...

Notable Jam Chart Performances

Individual jam chart entries from this venue:

1988-11-11 Whipping Post (12:14) Set 3 Noteworthy
The second jam includes some really cool spacey effects from Page and Trey, almost more Floyd than ABB-like, followed by a brief, intense return to "Whipping Post." This space jam is way, way out there for '88 Phish.
Debut. No recording available.
1988-11-11 David Bowie (11:41) Set 1
Similar to 11/5/88 with excellent and angry tension building. Good dissonance in the trill as well.
