There's a reason why @brainstemblast starts his / her review at the beginning of the second set. The first set is just fine mind you, though this is before the Fall '97 "there are no first sets anymore" era, i.e., this is definitely a run-of-the-mill first set. Dogs Stole Things was played for...

Stash opens the second set in standard fare (though Trey starts it off key) before it launches into a melodic section from about the 5:00 mark to 11:30. Some really great interplay here with Page on the grand piano dancing around Trey's circuitous melodies. Around 12 minutes though things start...

The previous two reviews have it: this show is all about the second set. Stash -> Ghost -> Saw It Again is must hear. The back end of Stash is very funky and the segue into Ghost is flawless. Ghost is like a precursor, 14 years earlier, mind you, to the Blossom Possum (June 4, 2011). Both...

Pretty decent show. Stash had some funkiness to it, that segued beautifully into Ghost. Everyone praises the Stash > Ghost > Saw It Again combo, but please don't overlook the fantastic Prince Caspian. What a way to close out the second set! With an delayed intro and some heavy melodic jamming...

I just wanted to draw attention to Trey's banter before the encore: "Thank you so much. It's very exciting -- our first time in your beautiful country. We really had a great time. As I said before, congratulations on hosting the Olympics in the year 2000." Now, maybe I'm wrong,...

Yet another average show. Sometimes It takes a show or two for the guys to get their footing. This tour seems to take a little longer than usual to really get started in my opinion. There are several possible reasons for this. 1.) They have a ton of new material a lot of which will end up on...

Notable Jam Chart Performances

Individual jam chart entries from this venue:

1997-06-19 Prince Caspian (12:14) Set 2 Noteworthy
> in from "JJLC." Long and beautiful intro (to 3:35). Jam section features great Trey/Page interplay, as well as more melody line variation from Trey than has become typical. Fish and Mike are rock solid here.
1997-06-19 Stash (21:34) Set 2
Straightforward until 11:30 when the sounds of funk start to creep in. Becomes a full-blown funk jam after 14:50. Unfinished with a -> to "Ghost."
