A typical Spring 94 show more or less, but the Bowie and Wolfman's are well worth checking out. This is probably the best version of Wolfman's until the historic 3/1/97 version on Slip Stitch Pass. The Reba, like pretty much every other 94 version, is a good listen too, and the band does some...

This show has all the signs of an underrated gem. Off the bat, it’s 1994 so that’s an automatic good start as this was such a landmark year for the band. Next, a soundboard is in circulation, which I would think makes this show more attractive. Highlights from the first set include the...

Way cool show. Thanks to the Rodgers crew for hosting, all the MSM phishers were in the house for this show & the boys played a good one. Lot's of cheering & singing along, as the tape tells - maybe it's the venue. Highlights include a super sweet Lawnboy & as I recall a stellar Antelope to...

The energy turned up a bit on this second show of the tour compared to the tour debut. A strong opening CDT leads things off. Horn and Sparkle follow before getting to DWD, which was still pretty young. This version shows the band just starting to stretch the tune out a bit and it’s fun to...

This gig was initially not in the published DS yet the date had a note that said: "A performance will happen on this day" With no DC area shows announced, we were hopeful (I was a freshman in HS!) but none of us had predicted the Patriot Center, a 10K-seat college basketball arena, which was...

Notable Jam Chart Performances

Individual jam chart entries from this venue:

This is what an "Antelope" on steroids sounds like. Pretty high up there in the Intensity Hall of Fame.
A brief heavy-metal jam shortly after 5 minutes works its way into uncommonly funky terrain (for '94) before concluding in typical fashion.
1994-04-17 Loving Cup (6:25) Set 1
Great Trey solo in this show-opening version.
1994-04-17 David Bowie (13:38) Set 2
Yet another exploratory April '94 "Bowie." This one has great Mike, exploratory rhythmic shifting, and a cool breakdown jam at 10:10. Dissonance builds towards the end. Really, an awesome version.
Jam section includes some early funk followed by a settled section which rebuilds into a rocking jam that opens up some before returning to the "Wolfman's" theme. Nothing like the monster versions from 1997 on, but an important one for establishing the funk -> release/rock -> return to "Wolfman's" jam structure for future "Type I" versions.
