Sometime in 1988 my friend Marla said, "You have to see this band, Phish, spelled with a 'Ph.' They're kind of a cross between the Dead and Frank Zappa." I said, "Huh. How's that work?" And she said, "Pretty well, if you like Zappa and the Dead!" That's an unusual combination, and hits two of my...

This show is a hidden masterpiece. The band was audibly stoked to be wrapping up one of their first long tours and heading home. They straight-up threw the f*** down! Set 1 brings plenty of juice. Stash is noteworthy for its wood block fills (hadn't caught "the clap" yet), spiralling...

(Published on the legacy Phish.net site many years ago...) Small is the word.Accoustics were good but totally intimate with bout est.200-300 people.(I've always wondered how you accurately estimate crowds,I only have ten fingers)Things really began to shape up during coil where Page set just...

Fun early show. It's nice to hear early incarnations of such classic tunes as Bathtub Gin, Mike's Groove, YEM, Antelope, and Hood. I enjoyed the first set, particularly the YEM - Page's solo was surprisingly funky and featured a nice Trey solo. To these ears YEM possessed some special,...

I listened to this on @dscott recommendation and man is it a great show. For anyone who wants a deep cut from the early 90s with absolute fire playing, an all-time Divided Sky and YEM in my book, along with lots of other fantastic moments (Bowie, Sloth, Stash, Cavern, Mango, A Train). It's just a...

The other reviewer on here did a great job, so I can be brief… This was a nice average show for 1990 and the first time they played at Webster Hall. Paul definitely took a while to get the room dialed in and the feedback gremlins plagued the monitors at times. The recording has that “college...

Notable Jam Chart Performances

Individual jam chart entries from this venue:

1991-11-24 You Enjoy Myself (20:56) Set 2 Noteworthy
Easily among the sickest versions of YEM before 1993, every segment is tight and fierce, with the jam segment containing an almost Tweezer-Reprise-esque groove for awhile, as well as a "Waiting So Long" jam at one point, and it dissolves slowly and steadily and then an insane vocal jam begins...and the vj ends in sporadic click-clack vocalizations. Hear at all costs.
1991-11-24 David Bowie (18:21) Set 1
Long intro with signals and banter while Trey hands out bathrobes to crew members. The largely straightforward jam includes spiraling tension and "DEG"-like jamming.
