nichobert Have you ever found yourself saying "I'd like to hear a Mike's Song jam into Bouncing Around The Room?"

If so, this is the one set show for you. I love the European festival & opening slot shows from 96 & 97. Some interesting minutiae tended to pop up and instantly become forgotten forever.

The post-peak segment of Mikes seems like it's being drawn into Bouncing's gravitational well a few times before finally landing there. I'm going to go ahead and make an executive decision to call this a 3 minute Bouncing Intro Jam and officially dethrone 6/9/00 (Different Guitar Solo) as the Best Bouncing Ever.

Now, if you ever happen to talk to Cactus, remind him to play that 40 Minute Bouncing that I've been sending him postcards about for the past 7 years. At some point in time you just have to give in, Cactus. Wave that purple handkerchief of surrender.

The_Ghost Interesting that during this series of shows opening for Santana they played their longest on 7/7 and their shortest on 7/9. back to back shows. Okay, not that interesting, but it's something.

Mike's Song is the only thing I would take away from this show and listen to again. Nothing wrong with the show, just not a lot going on for it.

Theme is what you would expect, transition to poor heart isn't great, but it could just be the tracks I downloaded. They did a better job with this at Deer Creek 6-19-95.

SethG Another long couple days of train travel from Italy to France (how Mike got the inspiration for Train Song, which debuted two weeks later in Germany), and we made it to the resort town of Deauville on France's west coast. The venue was like nothing we had experienced before - very high end. In fact, the ushers tried to make us sit down during Phish's set, but ultimately gave up. This was also the first show of only Phish and Santana and the first to be completely sold out (1500 seats sold). Phish's opening set was sparsely attended, but they missed a nice Theme opener, a Mike's Song into Boucin (a nice version to make up for Milan's debacle) and our first Character Zero, played publicly for the first time. Overnight in Deauville before an early train to Paris for the next show.

ilostmypebblesandmarbles Phishnet, why would you put a song on your jam chart that you think is lame ? Lame to describe this version of Mike's.??!#... I've noticed this on a few other song charts as well. It seems rather odd. This Mike's is totally lame. Check it out !!!! I love phish and I love this site but if you're not confident a version of a song is chart worthy, leave it off. Serve us the M.E.A.T. only. :)
