"Makisupa" was played to repay a bet that Trey made with a group of Heads who jumped off a bridge into the river next to the venue. "Guyute" was played as a request from one in the group who later helped adjust Trey's back on stage before the show... Set break included an open swim in the river out the back of the venue...

Second Set on paper is beautiful.
DWD is dance worthy. Fish is on-point and allows the band to be a flying dancing box of music. o.k DWD nice segue into Maze.
Trey drops out completely for a good stretch in the begining of page's solo. deep ffunk. page kills it and trey's rhythm guitar is sharp. they sort of miss the climax of page's solo but .... Trey's solo is a good listen. He starts in the voice of the tour. A watery, muffled but piercing whine. This turns into a great tension-release display. Fish shines again. You can hear afterward how small the crowd is. I remember back in 96 wanting to be at theses shows and hearing these guys who blow the roof off arenas , play to smaller crowds.
Loving Cup is a little lethargic .The band is battling feedback all night. Trey flubs some lyrics. Fish is Tight though and is a joy to listen to. They actually cut off the jam. They don't do the gimme little drink. Might be the feedback. Weakest Loving Cup i've ever heard

one of the slowest taffyest lethargic 'Fast Enough For You' s ive ever heard. The My Friend is sorta low key too.
Guyute is sang by Trey like he's falling away from the mic. The guitar work is tight though. Fish sounds amazing. The whole band is tight. It's the lethargic lyric delivery that's ....interesting
the 4 minute mark during the nice fiddle like solo for Trey , the crowd gives some enthusiastic clapping to the song.An enthusiastic whoop from a bandmember follows the end and trey speaks italian

The third two-set show on the European tour finds the band dusting off a number of songs for the first time since the 1995 New Year’s run. Each of the first five songs have a 12 show gap or more, but none of these versions are memorable. In fact, the most interesting thing about the first set occurs during Fishman’s I Didn’t Know vacuum solo, when the audience starts clapping. This evolves into a brief soccer-style “Hey! Hey!” chant.

The second set is equally uninteresting. The first Disease of 1996 is short and doesn’t wander from the theme at all. Loving Cup is one of the weakest versions I’ve heard, played at a slower-than-normal pace and marred by feedback.

It’s Ice has a complete piano solo segment, then they blow the re-entry into the chorus. Antelope is nothing out of the ordinary.

An utterly forgettable night in Italy. Zzzz.

Maze: Hot version. Trey gets after it. Going into the big ending peak, not everyone is completely on the same page but it’s not too bad.

Loving Cup: Trey blows some lyrics. Played slower than normal it feels like and just feels like they are going through the motions. >

Summary: One of the most boring Phish shows of the mid 90’s – easily. Guess they were more interested in partying with the fans and swimming in the river behind the venue that blowing anyone’s doors off.
