First off, audio quality on the spreadsheet download is POOP. OKP sees some slop from Trey, but Suzy is all right. YEM was okay - the vocal jam is wild, but the audio quality just sucks so bad. Trey and Page don't seem to be locked in too well during Foam. Mike plays something weird in the beginning of Forbin's. No narration. Trey is sloppy coming into Mbird, and the same can be said for a lot of the rest. La Grange jams. I don't think Trey botched the lyrics to Fee too terribly - there's one spot where he misses a couple of lines, but I think it's mainly due to Fish carrying his fill over a little more than normal.

Interesting Bowie intro that would be so much better if the audio quality wasn't so shitty. Composed section is okay, but the jam is slow to start and then meanders for a while on a bunch of noodly stuff from Trey and Page before coming into this heavy metal sort of thing from Trey that brings it back to the Bowie theme - all in all not that great, but not necessarily bad.

I'm gonna have to agree with 1 star on this one, but I will suggest that you check out that YEM vocal jam. Sorry this got to be so long...

Another really rough show here. Pretty sloppy Oh Kee Pa, YEM (weird, very much Several Species effects in the YEM, was just waiting for scottish jibber jabber) Foam, Forbin, Mockingbird, all sloppy, plus there are CD skipping noises in the download from the spreadsheet during Forbin. La Grange is probably the fist decently played song of the set, and it's even a little angry. But we go back to messy with Fee, and Trey forgets the lyrics (I think Fee has the most botched lyrics of any Phish song) but gets help from Page. The David Bowie is not horribly bad, but is still really all over the place in my opinion. I think I'm going to have to go one star on this one again, there's not much in my opinion in the way of highlights.

This source isn’t great but it’s not terrible. The pitch seems correct even though there’s multiple generations. Also, there’s some pretty noticeable CD skipping going on during Forbin. All in all the energy of this first set comes through.

Good first set overall. I wish we had the second set to review. The most standout moments in set one came during YEM and Bowie. This YEM isn’t as strong as Bennington (9/9), but the vocal jam is worth noting for it’s unique quality. The Bowie set closer is fantastic! La Grange was also a highlight!
