The Mockingbird Foundation is a non-profit organization founded by Phish fans in 1996 to generate charitable proceeds from the Phish community.
And since we're entirely volunteer – with no office, salaries, or paid staff – administrative costs are less than 2% of revenues! So far, we've distributed over $2 million to support music education for children – hundreds of grants in all 50 states, with more on the way.
I'm from germany and also jumped on the phish wagon a long time after they played their last euro show. Went to the states to see them play in 2014 and 2019 and had the time of my life, so i can definitely relate to your story.
There is a small but enthusiastic german jamband scene near you. Check out the Mars Mushrooms, Pelagic Zone and their shared project the Marslagic Shroomzone. The Mars Mushrooms also have their own festival going each year in June named Jamkraut. Hope to see you there next time!
