DuckDragon Awesome! Love it. I'm American, but I'm also a recent fan and I've had a similar experience of really diving deep for the first time and then ultimately seeing the band in person (also at Dick's; I'm very lucky to live in Denver). I still haven't made it to a King Gizz show, but I'm hoping to do so next year, and I think KGLW.net is very cool. Anyway, I work at a summer camp whose staff has a significant international contingent, and thanks to a fellow counselor who's a longtime Phish fan, a colleague from the UK got to see her first Phish show on Friday at Dick's this year. I wasn't there with her - I only went on Sunday, the one night you weren't there, and loved it - but even with zero prior exposure to the band, she apparently enjoyed it, as much for the lights and the antics of fans as for the music itself.
