Completely, utterly untrue. I could not disagree with this comment more because it could not be more off base. Could you please clarify what you meant by this because I don't know what definition of jam you seem to be using...
To my uneducated ears a "jam" constitutes a complete off the rails how the hell are they (The Phish) going to find their way back to the established song-structure? Whipping the crowd into a complete frenzy? So, you are telling me that the pedestrian, metronomic noodling displayed since the 1996 Halloween show goes off the rails and whips you into a frenzy? I stand corrected.
So you wouldn't consider the Miami Disease or Dick's Simple as "jams"? I agree they don't venture out into the abyss like they used to but the Miami Disease can go pound for pound with anything Phish has done in my opinion. Not trying to agitate here, just wondering.
