TREY: You know, I just want to pause to say how happy we are to be here. We are so happy to be here. We love Dick’s! We love Dick’s! I look out and see all of you and think to myself, “Wow.” That’s what I think. I look up in the sky, I see planes flying by, carrying messages, incredible messages, meaningful deep, deep, layered messages with layers reminding me of my youth. My upbringing. Page’s youth. Page’s upbringing. Mike’s youth, Fish’s upbringing.

You know, we all shared one experience that I’m not sure of you shared, but I want to tell you about it before I go on with the concert here at Dick’s. Because when we were young, we were lucky. The four of us were very lucky to be able to read a very special book. Yes, and it was a book by a great, great man. I think some of you might know who I’m talking about. Some of you may not know who I’m talking about, so let me just take a moment to tell you. This man was a great man. He was an incredible man, a special man, a learned man. He was the great and knowledgeable, the great and knowledgeable man that I’m telling this story about. [Backing vocals begin]

When we first met, to put the band together, that was what drew us together, because we all shared a love for this great man. The one, the only, the great and knowledgeable man who wrote the Helping Friendly Book. You know what I’m talking about, the book that the guy in the plane was talking about. The incredible book, we hope that you all, when you leave the concert tonight, will go out and find this book, because it has all the knowledge inherent in the universe and it was written by that one and only great man, the great the great and knowledgeable author of the Helping Friendly Book! So please, after the concert, find this book and read it! Because he is the one, the only, the great, the knowledgeable, the mighty the incredible, the amazing, the fucking amazing author of the Helping Friendly Book! I’m talking about! I’m talking! I’m talking about the great and knowledgeable Icculus!
