Very odd vibes for the first 30 or so minutes. Mike looked sick and Fish refused to play even a moderate speed. Trey looked back at him several times and the burst out laughing and resolved to sing Weekapaug at his tempo.

Halley’s is when the show caught fire, growing into an inferno through the last note of Fluff.

I keep having the best night of my life. Thank you Phish.

The best show of a very good little tour.

When things were rocky in Weekapaug and the beginning of Halley’s, I had a feeling they would make everything right. They sure did.

- Possibly the best Roggae ever
- The longest Halley's Comet since 1999
- The Carini could have been the jam of the show, but...
- No Man had moments of true beauty where a new song just appeared from the ether
- Ruby Waves was the jam of the tour, incredible arch
- Waste > WTU? was a perfect cool-down combo
- Fluffhead in the perfect spot

I thought I saw Trey trying to get Fish to speed up early in Weekapaug and when he didn't, that's when Trey started shredding really fast and dirty chords to force everyone else to play to his tempo. Which they did. Then I thought My Soul was his way of setting the tempo himself and using an easy blues to get everyone locked in together. Which it did. And then the rest of the night was bliss. Looked to me like Trey just took control after that weird first bit.

As others have mentioned, there was some funkiness for the first half of S1, but with My Soul getting all four on the same page, and then whatever that was during Haley’s (I lost track of all space and time during those 19-plus minutes!), the rest of the set was pure fire. From the very top of S2 through the end of the Fluff encore, I do not think there was a misplaced note and the band soared through a transcendent exploration of absolute glorious perfection. What a gift!

This was the 4th of 5th shows I attended to start the Spring Tour and this one blew my fucking mind the most.

Mind you, we were just hot off the presses of three stellar shows in Seattle and Portland. But this one, in a new venue to me, absolutely rocked my world in a different way. I finished up some personal stuff and flew down to SF same-day, arriving around 2-3 hours before showtime. I took the BART in, dropped my luggage off at some temporary storage, and hit a bar nearby where I had a few cranberry vodkas. Met up with the crew in line and we were on our way.

Bill Graham is incredible and if Phish ever comes back I definitely want to go. It was worth spending the money to make it happen, and it's such a cool venue. Super intimate, super friendly, and just great vibes all around. Definitely the smallest place I've seen Phish at least by a factor of two. I dipped into my molly stash as I was pretty sure that this night would be a heater, and of course it was.

Immediately the energy in the building was hot and the band responded with a nice Buried Alive to start. I was very hyped - this was my first-ever Buried Alive to catch live. Axilla to keep the energy up and I was floating! The crowd popped again when Mike's hit and I thought this was the perfect placement for it. A solid Mike's and my first I Am Hydrogen afterward (at MSG it was Bouncing) and so I was hyped about that. I have seen some commentary about a supposedly subpar Groove afterward but at the venue and upon relisten I don't really hear it. It's one of my favorite Phish songs and always glad to see it. There was a few different directions the next could have gone but My Soul dropped and again it was my first one live. I recall loving the designs of the lights on the roof of Bill Graham and thinking it was an interesting song choice (in a good way). Many of the shows this tour had at least one strong first set jam and we didn't have to wait long for this. This Halley's (again, my first ever!) is INCREDIBLE. It's easily the best Halley's in many many years and arguably the strongest since 1.0/2.0, definitely better than any in 3.0, incredible peak, incredible jam. Must hear. The Roggae that follows is no slouch either, this is a very strong Roggae that I would love to see jam charted. Gets out there. Maze is always nice and then the final punch to complete the set, Split Open and Melt. Love love love this one, could take a SOAM jam in every show, and it's a magnificent cap to everything. All of our crew was definitely stunned and could not wait for the next frame to come. Definitely something I was juiced for - like 5 new songs for me in that set, an all-timer jam (Halley's), a Groove, and a Melt.

Set 2 is a beautifully constructed flowing piece of music. The Carini > NMINML > Ruby Waves is like an hour of just pure exploration and jaw-dropping amazement. Incredible energy in the BGCA and they just kept going and going. Literally just continuous exploration for that time, no breaks. I loved the Crosseyed jam in Ruby, it felt to me Trey was riffing on that for like five minutes. Those three songs are a prime example of 2025 Phish picking up right where 2024 left off, and continuing the ridiculous heater they are on. Again, a must-hear. The Ruby Waste combo worked so well for MSG that it was decided to occur again, also to great results, and then we take the WTU journey (magical in the venue, I recall spinning around me to look at all the different sides of the auditorium). When they started Disease to close I figured that it was going to end the set but that it would rage, and our group functioned as a mini-mosh pit during the duration of the song. I apologize to anyone in front of me that I accidentally jumped into. The show ended and I was in a daze. One of the greatest shows I've seen, and I've seen some good ones lately (hard not to, they are playing so well).

They could have done anything for the encore but of course they know how to keep raising the bar, so obviously Fluffhead was where we celebrated. Just a magical ending for a magical show. Stumbled out of BGCA still in awe of what I had just saw, and could not believe there was still one more night to go. After the show, there was this amazing firework display out in the grass area in front of the concert hall, which just added to everything. We took a trip back in the Lyft up to my buddy's place in Marin County and had a nice sleep there, ready to recharge. Such a banger evening and it reconfirmed how good they are right now. Definitely listen to this one.

San Francisco always brings good vibes. Especially in the spring. Even more especially when your bust buds Phish stop by.

Buried Alive opener = chicken skin hellfire. Mike’s is extra hot tonight, excellent Trey work > a Trey heavy Hydrogen > the shortest, slowest Weekapaug I’ve ever heard. Still pretty fun though. They needed that My Soul to lock in for sure. Halley’s is fuckin crazy, huge type-2 jam. One of the best. Roggae is top drawer, superb jam, like a volcano slowly erupting. Listen to Mike and Fish in this one, crazy shit > pretty solid Maze. SOaMelt is just awesome, Trey goes all in with the effects and it turns into a whirlwind of sound.

Carini has the most solid groove on the planet, Fish’s playing is so rock steady I can’t help but shake my everything. Trey’s playing is super awesome near the end (and of course the whole thing, but especially so here). No Man’s Land is a lot of energy, feels a lot like a tornado in nature, amazing rinses from Fish > Ruby Waves gets dark fast; it brings you through a wormhole, and you’re greeted with a barrage of various pieces of interdimensional imagery. There’s this lead Trey settles with in the final act, and he rides it to a perfect peak. Just wow. Nice choice with WTU?. They wanted to eliminate any positive feelings you had from Waste and dive right into a macabre haze. Disease is a pure rage fest, amazing energy. Perfect outro. Fluffhead is played perfectly, love the fluff.

A little iffy at first, but hot damn, a great show all in all. There are a lot of highlights, check out the whole show.

Just wanted to note something I found quite nifty: Trey jumping into the jam in Weekapaug with all those quick, sprightly melodies right out of the gate, sounded like a much younger version of himself. Only lasted like 30 seconds, but nice to see he's still got it in the tank.

Halley's a cappella intro was rough though. idk what's going on with the first half of S1 but it sounds like Fish just isn't there at all until the Halley's bridge, then you can hear him snap into focus. You can also hear him just not following the dynamics of My Soul. Very odd. That said, Halley's jam is tight and the rest of S1 is solid.

S2 is great straight through. No notes, just killer flow.

My first review (long time review reader)

This show (which I was not at) reminds me of Hartford 7/24/22 (which I was at), destined to be underrated and also in some specific ways:
- Questionable song selection and especially energy at times (first quarter)
- Absolutely bitchin 2nd quarter jam (Sigma on 7/24/22, Halley's at this show)
- 1 hour of jamming to open the 2nd set with an incredible amount of depth-- Carini through Ruby is as good as they sounded this tour, for me, and is full of dark, pulsating jamming style that really does it for me

So good! Very jealous of anyone that was at these SF shows

S1 okay. Things were loose and a struggle. The band really heated up with My Soul and really started to get a groove in Halleys!!! Solid jam in Halleys, totally worth a listen!!! SOAM also a great part of this show and worth a listen!

S2 really stepped up from S1. NMINMS was good. I thought Ruby really hit the zone! Good stuff!! Waste was a nice ballad to slow things down.

Encore with a nice Fluffhead. Had a feeling they were gonna do this and it really hit. Beautiful encore to wrap up the night.
