Can the word "entitled" be banned from this site?

Being pissed that you've paid for something for years and then it's just taken away from you, while you're still being charged the same amount (and actually more) does not make you entitled. It makes you a reasonable person who expects to not be taken advantage of.

I've seen new tolls be added to highways to pay for 1 specific project, and then when that project was complete, the tolls remained. So the very reason for the tolls' existence was fulfilled, yet everyone still has to pay a toll there every time they drive through. Does being pissed about that make you entitled? Should drivers just be happy that in 2017, they're still able to drive on a road at all?

Phish aren't your friends. They're a business. If they're taking away downloads, ticket prices should go down. This sucks, and you're not "entitled" or "whiny" if you think that.

I don't totally disagree with you, but there's just so much hate and judgement and, yes, entitlement in Phish online communities, PhantasyTour in particular, but Phish.net as well. Criticism of the band is fair game, but it seems like it becomes a way of life for some folks, and so what you see in response at times is a hyperbolic defense of the band that can gloss over things that may truly be problematic. For further evidence, just look at the top rated comment on this thread: a giant FUCK YOU to.. the band? To LivePhish? To a defense of the spirit of giving shown by LivePhish toward the Mockingbird Foundation and to Phish.net? I mean, WTF?!

The band still gives its fans a level of access to their music that few, if any, other artists can touch. I don't recall prices for tickets ever specifically being increased to cover the cost of these downloads, if I'm wrong, let me know, but I expect the same download links of all of these shows will still make the rounds within minutes of the shows ending, same as it ever was. If a downloadable MP3 of a soundboard recording (which you can easily find as a free AUD in lossless or MP3 at any time) is what breaks your image of this band's artistic integrity and spirit then it must not have been very strong in the first place.

Phish.net

Phish.net is a non-commercial project run by Phish fans and for Phish fans under the auspices of the all-volunteer, non-profit Mockingbird Foundation.

This project serves to compile, preserve, and protect encyclopedic information about Phish and their music.
