1) 20 Minute Jams - Absolutely the top of my list. The frustrating thing right now is that the band is playing SO DAMN WELL, it seems like they could produce something truly magical (i.e. Bethel Waves) every single night. We're still getting some great jams, most recently I'm thinking of the Burgettstown Light (spectacular) and the SPAC Piper (awesome). But it still feels to me like too many jams get ripcorded in favor of packing more songs in.

2) If you're not feeling it, don't play it - I think that's what is happening with YEM these days, and I'm absolutely fine with that. I would rather not hear Mike's or Reba or Hood just because the band feels like they need to play it to satisfy the fans. Perfunctory versions of traditional jam vehicles just eat up set time that could be used for exploration.

3) Slow Piper back down - The slow build used to be part of Piper's identity. I think Piper still produces some great jams, but I really miss the goosebumps that the build gave me.

4) Scents and Subtle Sounds - In 2003 I thought this and Seven Below would be the next major jam vehicles. Seven Below still pops up here and there, but S&SS is practically a non-entity. Again, if it's not something the band is really feeling, I get it...but I wish it would come back with a vengance.

5) Susskind Hotel - With the same "if they're feeling it" caveat, Susskind should be making regular appearances in the rotation.

There are all kinds of tunes I would like to hear more of, including Spock's Brain, but I don't want to just turn this into a request list.

Anyway, I had a great time this summer and am jealous of everyone gettting to hit leg two. So, one more wish...how about warming up for MSG with a couple of gigs in D.C.? Maybe Philly? Pretty please?
