SET 1: The Moma Dance, Back on the Train, Wolfman's Brother, Funky Bitch, Roggae, NICU, A Wave of Hope, Sand
SET 2: What's Going Through Your Mind -> Chalk Dust Torture -> Light > Prince Caspian, Crosseyed and Painless, Lonely Trip, Everything's Right
ENCORE: Saw It Again > Possum, Slave to the Traffic Light
2024 Charlie Miller
I don't know if this is where you do this, but in Moma Dance Page doved into a pretty sizeable "Walking in the Air" tease (the theme song from the animated film The Snowman) which Trey jumped on. Brought tears to my little childhood eyes. "Walking in the Air"

“It’s only night one!” - a common refrain heard on this, the opening show of Mondegreen. Even including when one of Trey’s amps failed, the band sounded dialed in and almost impatient to get to the jams. Monstrous S1 culminating in a fiery “Sand,” followed by a bright S2 featuring a lot of teases and tension from all parties involved. The encore was fitting, the band launching into a sinister “Saw It Again” followed by a bouncy “Possum” and the classic “Slave” closer. Overall, a solid start to what promises to be a tremendous weekend.

I think this might be one of the best sets they ever played. Wgtym is an amazing song already and the jam into chalk dust was wild. Next light is an awesome song and the jam out of light into caspian has to be the craziest most mindfuckery insanity they’ve ever played. (If someone can point me to a crazier segue please do). Of course Caspian is as beautiful as ever. Ya can never go wrong with cross eyed and painless. And lonely trip. I love it. It’s about us, how could you not love it? Made me cry those good old “church tears”. You know religious experience and all that. End the set with everything’s right. Well done. I just wanted to bring these thoughts out as I feel so adamant about this set. Love this band and love this set ⭕️❤️⭕️

On August 15th, 2024 I woke up on a pullout couch in a basement in New Jersey. It was early, like 5am, and already there was plenty of bustle coming from the other side of the fuzzy ceiling, where a half-dozen longtime tour veterans were putting the finishing touches on yesterday’s packing job. I brushed my teeth, filled a proffered travel mug with coffee, and helped with the last of the beer coolers. By 6am we had cleared out the ice fridge at the local 7-11 (eleven bags at $3.49 per) and were aimed at the highway.

Still had an absolute blast, but musically that was a mediocre warmp up show. Caspian through Everything's Right had some extra mustard, the rest felt pretty underwhelming in attendance.
