This show was organized for a bunch of Prep schools in Ct. My school, Loomis Chaffee, was there and it was a good vibe seeing all the other prepsters from the other schools into the same music. Surprisingly, the band didnt play "Prep School Hippy" which would have been perfect.

My first Phish show. Like others here, I was a prep school student (Berkshire) and very glad to join up with other students from different schools that day. I recall one of my teachers standing next to me and commenting, “the singer has a very *interesting* voice.” And I remember thinking: ‘yes, and also - you’re listening to the future.’ It was a very solid early show and a terrific day!

The SBD source for this show is listenable but the pitch is a hair sharp. McGrupp switches over to an audience recording which has decent sound.
The SBD source for this show is listenable but the pitch is a hair sharp. McGrupp switches over to an audience recording which has decent sound. This was my first show. I went to Canterbury school and I think the tickets were 10 bucks. Someone from the school Just dropped us off in a van. The show was in a big field. Think the stage was a flatbed trailer. Hundreds of prep school kids and a small but noticeable number of Burlington types willing to drive down to Connecticut for a free show. There were a bunch of us playing frisbee for the first set. Great vibe. The possum encore is what hooked me. I’m writing this review on the 32 anniversary of that show.

And since we're entirely volunteer – with no office, salaries, or paid staff – administrative costs are less than 2% of revenues! So far, we've distributed over $2 million to support music education for children – hundreds of grants in all 50 states, with more on the way.
