Not sure about the first set flow, but it had some great moments and strong playing. Nice of them to do "Old Home Place", since they're at SPAC, right?
Not sure about the first set flow, but it had some great moments and strong playing. Nice of them to do "Old Home Place", since they're at SPAC, right? The first set is basically a welcome set to one of the all time great 3 night runs in Phish history. The First Tube opener is a high energy way to kick things off before Bathtub Gin becomes the big hint that this is going to be a special weekend. Unbelievable jam here that turns into feel good hose. The rest of the set has the only flow issues of the weekend. Even so, there are highlights. BOAF hits a nice peak. The rendition of Strawberry Letter 23 is perfect. Lawn Boy is really fun and Mike shows off on his bass. Old Home Place is a nice nod to SPAC. Hey Stranger introduces the outer space theme for the weekend and has a great jam. Walls rips.

This will be a short review. While at the end of the weekend MAY have turned out to be the "weakest" of the SPAC weekend, its laughable to call this weak in any way. This is a psychedelic masterpiece. Phish completely flipped the forest hills script and went right back on track to murdering Summer 2025...

This is a psychedelic masterpiece. Phish completely flipped the forest hills script and went right back on track to murdering Summer 2025... They definitely unleashed the beast last night. If stretched out, deep, heavy, experimental, face melting, evil Phish is your cup of tea, you came to the right place. SYSF, Chalkdust and Piper all fresh top shelf versions begging immediate relistens. First set Gin and Stranger big stand outs as well. Coming in hot to finish out this leg of an outstanding summer tour.

Brief "Waiting All Night" tease from Gordo in Everything's Right (he hits the song's bass line verbatim) for a few measures. Sick 2nd set! Thanks, Phish, for putting this on YouTube.
